Participation and eligibility criteria:
Nordic Oil does not work with voucher affiliates and therefore affiliate applications concerning vouchers, coupons etc. will be directly rejected.
Each website is individually checked and evaluated. If a website meets all our basic admission criteria, the application will be accepted.
We can only accept websites for the affiliate program that are fully retrievable, in order for us to review the content of the page
Nordic Oil Affiliate Brand-, Promotion- and Visual Identity Guidelines for Affiliate Partners
General Branding guidelines:
The general branding guidelines apply for all registered affiliate domains or social media channel name for the Nordic Oil program: It is not allowed to use the keyword “Nordic Oil” including any misspellings, typos, or variations of wording to promote or advertise and generate clicks, views or orders for the affiliate program. E.g.: A domain such as www.buy-nordic-oil.com or Social Media channels such as https://www.facebook.com/nordic-oil will not be approved for the affiliate program.
The following advertising forms are not allowed:
- Self-written Newsletter send-outs or copying and/or forwarding of any official Nordic Oil email promotion. Only newsletters that are coordinated with and approved by your affiliate manager are allowed as promotion of Nordic Oil
- Promotion and display of the Nordic Oil brand or any Nordic Oil products in relation to the following topics: glorification and incitement of violence, extremism, racism, pornography/sexual content, defaming people with regards to their origin, religion or sexual orientation, glorification, and incitement of hatred, as well as any topics prohibited by law.
- Cookie dropping, usage of Ad-/Spyware, Desktop-Gadgets, Browser-Plugins (e.g. Toolbars), Pop-Up/Pop-Under, Layer or iframe, robots, automatized tools, crawler/scraper bots, etc.
- Manipulation of traffic/sales, forced clicks, paid clicks, Non-Stop/direct forwarding of affiliate traffic to Nordic Oil and nonvisible landing pages or promotion material.
- Promotion of voucher codes that are designated to specific affiliates, or not approved for the affiliate channel.
- Promotion on websites with no imprint or compliance according to the GDPR.
- Promotion on websites that are under construction/not live or have broken content etc.
- Usage of non registered/approved affiliate websites or 3rd party platforms to direct traffic to Nordic Oil.
- Collecting email addresses with the clear aim of promoting Nordic Oil specific offers, codes and promotions is not allowed.
- It is not allowed to use the affiliate program to generate sales commission for purchases of own usage.
- Affiliates are strictly prohibited from placing orders on behalf of other customers. Each customer must place their own order directly.
- Displaying/advertising prices that are lower than the recommended retail price stated in the Nordic Oil webshops, is not permitted.
SEM guidelines:
The following restrictions apply to the promotion of our products by search engine marketing (SEM):
- Brand bidding, i.e. bidding on the keyword "Nordic Oil", "Nordicoil", is prohibited.
- This also applies explicitly to all other (incorrect) spellings and keyword combinations.
- Restrictions apply to all keyword advertising systems, especially Google AdWords and Bing Ads.
- Bidding on generic keywords using your own domain as display URL is allowed.

Social media and product reviews:
Creation of any social media channels, containing the keyphrase “Nordic Oil” and its variations and misspellings in the channel name, with the aim of affiliate promotion and forwarding of affiliate traffic to the official Nordic Oil website is prohibited.
It is not allowed to post affiliate links in public groups that do not belong to, or are managed by the given affiliate. Affiliate links can only be posted on your own Social media channel.
Using affiliate links within your own social media is allowed, as long as the channel is clearly branded and in no way resembles or can be mistaken for an official Nordic Oil social media channel.
It is allowed for affiliates/influencers/Bloggers/Youtubers/Social Media users etc. to take photographs and display the Nordic Oil brand and its products, along with a product review in positive surroundings – this usage is accepted for marketing purposes and strategy.

Any violations of the affiliate program terms and conditions will lead to an immediate cancellation of the affiliate partnership and the rejection of all generated orders.
In case of violation of either of the above listed, the competition law or the general data protection regulations, Nordic Oil® reserves the right to terminate all working relationships with the affiliate. Furthermore, Nordic Oil® reserves the right to take legal action for any violations of this agreement and claim compensation for any damages made to the affiliate code of conduct and the Nordic Oil® Brand.
It is the affiliate's sole responsibility to keep up to date with any changes of the T&Cs and ensure that their actions are fully compliant with these at any given time.
These terms also apply for sub- and partner brands of Nordic Oil (e.g. Nordic Cosmetics®).
Commission Payout:
The payment of the confirmed affiliate commission is made every month, usually in the middle (15th) of each month ( /- 2-3 business days). In order to evaluate all commissions correctly, we need a retroactive time window of at least 45 days to determine the status of the orders (e.g. whether a return/partial return has taken place etc.). The confirmed commission is therefore paid retroactively and only if it reaches a total amount of at least 100 EUR. Any amount below 100 EUR will be deposited as credit in the account.
All orders are displayed in the account of UpPromote as "approved". This is the default setting of the network. However, it does not mean that the order will be paid out or confirmed if, for example, a return takes place. Please see this explained Payout Example
All commissions are tracked and paid in EUR.
Nordic Oil does not accept charges for bank transfers. Please provide your bank information in UpPromote and make sure to fill in all necessary or missing information in your Affiliate Profile.
By joining the Nordic Oil® affiliate program, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree with the Nordic Oil affiliate Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, as well as agreeing to comply with GDPR and the Terms and Conditions of the Nordic Oil® online store.
